CFD Mechanical Engineer – Intern
Lotus Power is seeking a CFD Mechanical Engineer – Intern with expertise in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and a strong background in aerodynamics to support simulation and design validation of farm management devices. Lotus Power is a startup business, founded in 2024, it focuses on the design and development of farm management and electrified systems. Lotus Power has offices in Cairo, Egypt, and Vancouver, BC, Canada. This role is based in the Cairo office. The candidate will be working with a cross-functional team in Egypt and Canada, where he/she will perform structural, CFD, and thermal FEA studies for the farm management devices. The candidate can work remotely, and he/she need to go the office when it is needed.
Lotus Power is seeking outstanding engineers and researchers who think outside the box and are keen in deploying research sciences to products through the product development process and R&D methodologies. The candidate will participate in the novel design of farm management devices and patent applications based on his/her contribution. This role can be transferred to a full-time, this is based on the performance of the candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct FEA simulations for farm management devices using simulation tools.
Work closely with mechanical, manufacturing, system, and electrical engineers to ensure structurally system designs of farm management devices.
Perform FEA studies to investigate the thermal distribution, airflow, and system performance of farm management devices.
Optimize designs using iterative FEA analysis and recommend design changes based on simulation outcomes.
Develop simulation models using tools like SolidWorks, ANSYS, or others.
Document analysis procedures, results, and recommendations in technical reports.
Support the product development lifecycle from concept to final validation.
Qualifications:
BSc, MSc, or PhD student in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
Knowledge in FEA with emphasis on thermodynamic and CFD.
Proficiency in SolidWorks.
Experience/knowledge in FEA software (e.g., SolidWorks, ANSYS, COMSOL, others).
Understanding of thermodynamics principles and experience working with CFD data or aerodynamic analysis tools.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge in thermodynamic analysis, mechatronic systems, aerospace, automotive, or renewable energy sectors.
Familiarity with patent application and publication process.
Hands-on experience with testing or validation procedures.
