R&D Projects

Lotus Power works with researchers to design and develop smart electric mobility systems. These researchers are from Mansoura University, Egypt; Zewail City of Science and Technology, Egypt; The British University in Dubai, UAE; University of Florida, USA; and Arizona State University, USA. The team designed and built a prototype electric motorcycle in the summer of 2023. The main specifications are:
– Its battery System is 48V & 8Ah,
– Its charger system is based on a level 1 charger system,
– The motor drive system is based on scalar control (system off the shelf),
– The drive range of the motorcycle is 30km.

Lotus Power has been providing technical leadership to the research group to optimize the system performance of the electric motorcycle. Different local and international agencies fund this research project. The main specifications are:

– Its battery System is 48V & 15Ah,

– Its charger system is based on a level 2 charger system (fast-charging system),

– The motor drive system is based on scalar and vector control systems,

– IoT system is integrated to monitor the status of the battery and motor drive remotely,

– ADAS (advanced driver-assistance systems) is based on AWS (Amazon Web Service) — as an optional system,

– The drive range of the motorcycle is 65km.
